Please follow the instructions below to successfully set up the FargoRate and BCAPL Scoring App. YOU NEED BOTH!

Connect Your FargoRate Profile First!

In order to use the BCA Pool League scoring app, you must be on an active BCA Pool League team and have matches scheduled.

Your login will be the same as your FargoRate app login.

GETTING STARTED

  • Begin by downloading the FargoRate Player app from your mobile device's app store. Links above.

  • Search for yourself by name.  If you have never claimed your FargoRate membership, you will be prompted to provide an email address and set a password. If you have trouble finding yourself or need your account corrected, please contact Ruth at Galveston Island BCA Pool League for help. 
    Remember this information because it will also be used to log into the Scoring app.

  • Download the BCAPL Scoring app from your mobile device's app store.

  • Sign in to the app using the same e-mail address and password used for the FargoRate Player app.

SCORING WITH THE APP

NOTE: only one player from each team should score and submit the match

  • When you open the BCAPL Scoring app you will see a list of matches for your teams (they may not be there right now, but they will be once league kicks off).
  • Select the match being played.
  • Select the players from each team in the order in which they will play round 1.  
  • At the end of each game, record the score by tapping the green number pad button.
  • Select the box for the winning player and use the scoring buttons (explained below) and + and - buttons to enter the winning player's score.
  • Select the box for the losing player and use the + and - buttons to enter the losing player's score.

Activating Premium Features in the FargoRate Player App

  • Your annual dues are covered by Galveston BCA, but you must first play at least 2 matches, and once Galveston BCA's sanctioning report has been processed by the BCAPL National office, you will be a sanctioned player and eligible to receive the premium features on the FargoRate Players app.
  • You can confirm that you are sanctioned by using the BCAPL Player Finder webpage.  Search for your name and ensure it says 'Yes' under Currently Sanctioned.  
  • Once you are sanctioned, send an email to support@fargorate.com to request that they activate the premium features for your member account.
  • If you are not sanctioned and believe that you should be, contact Ruth.

17-Point Scoring system

  • Winner’s Score: Automatic 10 points + 1 point for each of the opponent's balls left on the table.
  • Loser’s Score: 1 point per ball pocketed.
  • Total per rack: Always = 17.

Example:

  • Player A wins, opponent has four balls left. Opponent pocketed 3.
  • Player A = 10 + 4 = 14.
  • Player B = 3.
  • Total = 17.

Special Cases

  • Break and Run (BR): 17–0.
  • Table Run (TR): 16–1 (opponent breaks dry, winner clears).
  • Win by Forfeit (WF): 16–1 (applies if the present player forfeits, not absent).
    • Team forfeits entire match due to not meeting roster minimum → opposing team gets max nightly points for that match.
    • Individual forfeits during play → 16–1 per rack forfeited.
